Known for her work ethic, determination and generosity. South African multi-award-winning radio host, TV presenter and MC, Global Citizen ambassador and style icon. 

Bonang Matheba affectionately referred to by fans as Queen B, has firmly positioned herself as Africa’s most sought after entertainment personality and the African continent’s number one social media darling, with over 8.58M combined social media followers.

From a very young age Bonang knew that she wanted to “be great and live a life of greatness”, and her big break came as a presenter of “LIVE” on SABC1, followed by a radio host position at Metro FM. This was just the start of a career which has had an extraordinary trajectory.

Just in 2019 alone, Bonang won the coveted Award for Best Inspiration & Influence at the prestigious Global Social Awards held in Prague, Czech Republic while; she also won Africa Influencer of the Year at the first-ever E! Entertainment People’s Choice Awards, held in Los Angeles, California. The beginning of 2020 saw Bonang being dubbed one of Forbes’ 50 Most Powerful Women in Africa, also gracing the cover of the Forbes Women Africa March issue.

And Queen B is just getting started.

In March 2019, Bonang launched her very own luxury beverage brand, the HOUSE OF BNG, with the introduction of a range of MCCs (Brut and Brut Rose), recently expanding the range with a Prestige Reserve release.

Bonang’s presence on-screen during 2019 included the third season of her reality show “Being Bonang”, the award-winning documentary “Public Figure” (in which Bonang starred in and co-produced,) as well as her own episode in “Activate”, the six-part National Geographic documentary series about Global Citizen’s efforts to eradicate poverty by 2030.

When she’s not on the red carpet or in front of the camera, Bonang is a prominent ambassador for Global Citizen and also heads up the Bonang Matheba Bursary Fund which aims to put 300 girls through tertiary education by 2025.
