Dudu Myeni's testimony at the State Capture Inquiry was arguably one of the tensest appearances seen yet.

The former SAA executive had been called before the Commission to answer to numerous allegations levied against her. However, Inquiry chairperson Deputy Chief Justice Raymond Zondo was met with fierce resistance.

Myeni had refused to answer most questions, adamant that she would not give testimony that would risk incriminating herself, even to the most redundant questions.

This situation was only compounded when Myeni had exposed the true identity of a protected witness, dubbed Mr X by the Inquiry.

Myeni had named this 'brother' of hers despite protests raised by both Zondo and other Inquiry personnel.

Now, the Inquiry has announced that it will be pressing charges against Myeni, commenting in a statement that:

"Zondo announced that Ms. Dudu Mnyeni, who testified before the commission, has disclosed an Identity of the witness that was not supposed to be disclosed, he says he has instructed the secretary of the commission to lay a charge against her."

South Africans flooded social media with their reactions to learning the identity of Mr X and the face that Myeni revealed his identity despite a court order prohibiting it.

Former South African Airways board chairperson Dudu Myeni exposed a witness in protection.

peaking at the Commission of Inquiry into State Capture, Myeni exposed the identity of 'Mr X', despite the commission having issued an order to protect him.

Myeni had been probed over testimony put forward by Mr X, who had claimed that the two of them had looted millions from Mhlatuze Water during her time as board chair.
