Orlando Pirates had to rely on an injury-time equaliser to avoid a shock home defeat against Baroka FC in their DStv Premiership clash at the Orlando Stadium in Soweto.
Heading into the match, Pirates had the chance to go top of the standings, but instead remained fourth following the 1-1 draw.
Ananias Gebhardt scored the opening goal for Baroka FC in the 47th minute.
With defeat staring them in the face, replacement Tshegofatso Mabaso came off the bench to give the Buccaneers a 91st-minute equaliser.
The Buccaneers – and their supporters – will be frustrated by the draw, especially as they had 18 shots at goal (compared to 10 by Baroka FC) and enjoyed 72% of the possession.
That amounted to a staggering 595 passes completed compared to only 231 by their visitors.
Pirates will next be in action against Cape Town City in the Mother City on Saturday, December 5 (15:30), while Baroka FC will host Chippa United in their next DStv Premiership clash on Sunday, December 6, also at 15:30.
