South African president Cyril Ramaphosa has finally broken his silence on the Bushiri debacle that has been dragging out in South Africa over the last couple of months. According to reports, Ramaphosa has referred to the Bushiri's ever-growing media coverage as "concerning."
"The Bushiri matter has been very concerning to all of us. I'm waiting for a detailed report on the whole Bushiri saga, which I will get, and we will then see what action needs to be taken," said Ramaphosa.
Shepherd Bushiri and his wife Mary have been under the watchful eyes of dozens of media publications ever since the news that they had managed to defraud some of the congregation members of the Enlightened Christian Gathering Church of hundreds and thousands of rands.

According to eNCA, Ramaphosa is also expecting a report on their escape on Thursday this week following the Minister of Home Affairs Aaron Motsoaledi's explanation on the couple and their five passports each.
This is due to the fact that the couple violated their bail conditions. Magistrate Thandi Theledi asked for the couple to be called three times at their hearing. The magistrate then ruled that Shepherd and Mary had forfeited the property which had been tied to their bail.
The couple fled South Africa this past weekend to their home country of Malawi, thus contravening their bail conditions. It was reported that the Bushiris had handed themselves over to Malawian police on Wednesday, 18 November.

SABC reported that the couple are also awaiting the beginning of an extradition process to bring them to South Africa while a report by eNCA stated that Bushiris' South African legal team said they had not been informed of the couple's movements.
