Black First Land First (BLF) Deputy President Zanele Lwana has joined the few people who are defending Shepherd Bushiri.

Along with ANC MP Boy Mamabolo, the BLF is standing with the self-proclaimed prophet. Lwana said:

"The government of South Africa is not interested in the rule of law. It’s interested in tarnishing the name of the prophet."

According to Lwana, the South African government has a vendetta against Bushiri and the "negative propaganda" against him was used as a way to steer away from the fact that he made "legal" demands regarding the charges against him.

"The South African government has no case against the prophet, hence the manufacturing of charges and feeding the media frenzy in an attempt to conduct a trial by media," said Lwana.

She went on to say that Bushiri would not receive a fair trial in South Africa, especially under President Cyril Ramaphosa's leadership. She called for the government to agree with Bushiri's demands so that he can have a "fair trial".

It is clear that South Africa is under white control and black people who are not controlled by white power and are able to stand on their own are destroyed,” she said.

In other political news, the SAHRC launched a probe into 'armed' EFF protestors. The mass protest at Brackenfell may well have landed the EFF in some trouble with the South African Human Rights Commission.

Chris Nissen, a representative of the body, has confirmed that it will be investigating three major developments from the unrest in Brackenfell.

The commission will be probing the alleged exclusion of black students from a private matric dance as well as an assault case against police officers. EFF members have also been accused of "hate speech" with the PAC's "one settler, one bullet" chants, earning it some trouble as well.
